Bergner said in a joint press conference with Iraqi spokesman Dr Tahseen Al-Sheikhali Wednesday that about 50 terrorists were arrested in the city of Mosul north of Iraq, adding that the exchange of information led to an improvement in anti-terrorism operations.

Terrorists now have to worry about crossing the borders before conducting that operations, stated the MNF official. Bergner did not reveal the names of states cooperating with the MNF.

Senior Qaeda operatives such as Ibrahim Ahmad Umar Nasir Al-Sabawi and Abbad Abd-Ahmad Hamad were arrested in Mosul and Baghdad, said Bergner, adding that most of the arrestees were working for the benefit of regional states, hindering efforts to stabilize the country.

The MNF and the Iraqi army and the police are responding quickly to any terrorist attacks and will work on lessening these operations against civilians, he added.
