Liquor recovered from police quarters in Gujarat

Jamnagar (Gujarat) : As many as 98 bottles of liquor were seized in a raid on police staff quarters in this town in Gujarat Monday, embarsassing the department.

Jamnagar City B division police inspector V.V. Jadeja and his team raided staff quarter No.218 allotted to Bharatsinh P. Chudasma 12.30 a.m. Monday and recovered 98 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth Rs.40,000.

The house is occupied by Bharatsinh’s son Pradipsinh, who was arrested though Bharatsinh was yet to be taken into custody, the police said.

Jamnagar is about 500 km from Ahmedabad.

Gujarat has a prohibition policy in place since its inception in 1960.
