Ulema denounce terrorism in anti terrorism conference in Patna

Patna : As a part of nationwide anti- terrorism campaign, a seminar was organised by Rabita Madaris-E- Islamia in Patna. This campaign is initiated by Darooul-Uloom, Deoband to counter the charges of terrorism on Islam and Madarasas. This seminar was the first of its kind in Bihar. It was attended by various Muslims scholars and famous personality.

In his presidential address Maulana Syed Arshad Madani highlighted the role played by Madarasas and Ulema in India Freedom struggle. He reminded about Shah Abdul Aziz Dahelvi’s call for Jihad against British in 1803 and this was first call given to fight against the British. Shah Abdul Aziz Dahelvi sent his followers to all over India to prepare other Ulemas and Muslims for this Jihad. Shah Abdul Aziz was killed in 1831 in battle of Balakot. He said it is unfortunate that when these Ulema and madarasas shed their blood for our country and now same madarsasa are being labelled as Anti-National.

Retired IPS Kunal Kishore highlighted the importance of Ganga-Jamuni culture in uniting India. He appreciated the role played by Ulema in condemning the terrorism. He also urged to Hindus to come forward to help Muslim brother in this time of need.

To remove terrorism from India, Mr. Kishore suggested that we look into the root causes. He stressed that innocent should not be harassed in the name of terrorism. He gave an example of a UP based IPS officer who had accused Imarat-e-Sharia of Bihar to be involved in anti national activities and due to effort of Kunal Kishore that officer was transferred for false allegation.

Maulana Qari Md. Usman of Darul-Uloom, Deoband said all the Muslims in India are united in this fight against terrorism and all the madarasas are ready to lead in this movement. There is no place for terrorism in Islam.

Dr Syed Shah Munemi, of Khanqah Munemi said some people are determined to destroy the secular fabric of this country and these are the people who are active in defaming Islam and Muslims.

Maulana Wali Rahmani of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and Khanqah Rahmania of Munger blamed secular forces for malicious campaign against Islam and madarasas. He said labelling Muslims as terrorist and linking violent acts with Islam and Muslims is highly deplorable.

Seminar was also addressed by Maulana Shaukat Ali Qasmi and former IAS officer Shankar Saran. Thousands from Patna and other parts of Bihar attended this conference.
