Pyongyang : The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea affirmed on Thursday the negotiations with the US on technical and practical issues for denuclearization of is nuclear facility were successful.
A spokesperson from the Korean foreign ministry told KCNA news agency the talks were held June 10-11 in Pyongyang.
The specialist on Korean affairs at the US State Department, Sung Kim, traveled to North Korea especially for the negotiations, which also dealt with the corresponding political-economic compensation to that country for the step made.
The DPRK closed its nuclear reactor in Yongbyon early in July 2007, and has gradually worked for putting it out of action in line with the agreements of the six-way talks in Beijing.
