By News Agency of Kashmir,
Jammu : Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has hailed the appointment of former Home and Defence Secretary N N Vohra as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per a press statement, the state BJP said that it expects him to further improve the two shrine boards, particularly Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, which has come under direct attack from “fundamentalists,” “separatists” and some mainstream parties. The BJP has alleged that these parties have joined hands to scuttle the Amarnath pilgrimage.
“A particular party, which claims credit for getting Narinder Nath Vohra as their choice in the Raj Bhavan, is publicly indicating that a Muslim bureaucrat is being sent to the Raj Bhavan as Principal Secretary, who would take control of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board as the Chief Executive. All this is being done with the sinister design of undermining and weakening the Shrine Boards,” the statement maintained.
