Sectarian violence claims 12 lives in Pakistani tribal region

Islamabad : Twelve persons were killed after being kidnapped in Pakistan’s northern tribal belt along Afghan border in what authorities termed an incident of target killing by rival religious groups. About twelve persons of Alizai village in Kurrum tribal agency were kidnapped last week by armed-gunmen belonging to rival religious group, security sources told KUNA.

They said four abductees were tortured to death last week and their dead bodies were dumped near the main road of the area. They added that eight abductees were gunned down early Monday morning and that their dead bodies have been recovered.

The local political administration has termed it a seatrain violence incident and has called Frontier Corps (FC) forces to maintain law and order in the agency.
