New Delhi : Reliance Petroleum Ltd (RPL) will complete its Jamnagar refinery ahead of schedule, the company said Tuesday.
“RPL has mobilised sufficient resources to sustain pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on fast track and expects to complete the refinery ahead of its initial schedule of December 2008,” the company said in a regulatory statement.
It said 94 percent of the work has already been completed in the export-oriented refinery, located in a special economic zone at Jamnagar in Gujarat. The plant has an annual capacity of 27 million tonnes.
During the first quarter, RPL said that it has installed all major equipment, nearly completed equipment and bulk material deliveries and completion of civil construction.
“The team is fully geared and motivate to commission the refinery ahead of its initial schedule of December 2008. RPL is thus poised to create a new world record for project implementation in the global refining sector,” said RPL chairman Mukesh Ambani in the statement.
