Madrid : Polish goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek is all set to become Real Madrid’s fourth signing of the summer, sports daily Marca reported Thursday.
According to Marca, the veteran Polish goalkeeper has already finalised an agreement with Real on a two-year contract and will be presented by the Spanish league champions next week.
There was no confirmation from Real who have been looking for an experienced reserve goalkeeper for two weeks now, since Diego Lopez – understudy to Iker Casillas for the past two years – was sold to Villarreal.
Dudek, 34, would be Real’s fourth summer signing and their third without a transfer fee since he has finished his contract at Liverpool.
Christoph Metzelder, Real’s first signing, came free since he had finished his contract at Borussia Dortmund. Javier Saviola, out of contract at Barcelona, will also come on a free transfer.
The only transfer fee that Real have paid so far is for Porto defender Pepe, who has cost around $41.255 million.
