Dubai : The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) national airline Emirates has announced that an aircraft at Kuwait International Airport was forced to abort take-off because of a technical fault.
A spokesman for the Dubai-based airline said the captain of flight number 856 noticed smoke coming out of the rear end of the plane and aborted the take-off Wednesday, the state-run Emirates News Agency reported.
“Preliminary information indicates that the source of the smoke may be the engine exhauster. Investigations are on,” he added.
He also denied allegations of a fire, explosion or an emergency landing as the plane had not taken off at all.
The spokesman said that a passenger who was not on his seat had fallen down and sustained a minor injury. He was taken to a hospital.
Another aircraft was later deployed for the flight.
