Himachal seeks Rs.734 crore central assistance

Shimla : The Himachal Pradesh government has sought Rs.734 crores from the central government for relief and rehabilitation following damages caused by heavy rains.

State Public Works Department Minister Thakur Gulab Singh told IANS Friday that the state had prepared a detailed report in this regard. He said the rains had most severely affected farmers.

Shimla was the worst-hit district in the state followed by Kangra, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kullu, Mandi, Kinnaur and Bilaspur districts.
