Baghdad : Four Iraqis were killed and 15 others injured when two roadside bombs exploded coordinately in downtown Baghdad on Sunday, an Interior Ministry source said.
The incident occurred in the morning when a makeshift bomb detonated near a police patrol in the Nahdha area, killing a policeman and wounding two others, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Minutes later, another explosion occurred at the scene when Iraqi security forces and civilians gathered to examine the first explosion, killing three civilians and wounding 13 others, the source said.
The blasts also damaged several nearby shops and civilian cars in area where one of most crowded parking-lots in the capital located, he said.
Violence has dropped to a four-year low in Iraq, while sporadic roadside bombs, car bombings and suicide attacks are still haunting the Iraqis.
