Press Release/Bandipora : Ex Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Maulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari Monday said that the peace, progress and security would continue to elude South Asia until the Kashmir issue was resolved in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of its people.

Speaking at a day long district delegate session at Shadi Pora in Tehsil Sumbal of district Bandipora, Maulana Abbas Ansari stated that without resolving Kashmir issue neither prolonged peace can prevail in South Asia nor can the dialogue for bilateral relations between India and Pakistan succeed. A peaceful solution of Kashmir issue would ensure peace and prosperity to the region and would promote regional cooperation, stability and harmony.

“Kashmiris are not only the main party to the dispute but they are the real owners of this disputed land and without their consent any permanent and durable solution of the issue cannot be sorted out. Until Kashmiris are not included in any dialogue process, it will not succeed. Bilateral talks between India and Pakistan would not yield desired result unless and until the true representatives of Kashmiris were involved in these to hammer out a viable solution to Kashmir issue in keeping with the wishes and aspirations of its people”.

Lashing out at the pro Indian parties’ power politics in Kashmir Maulana Ansari said that all pro Indian parties including National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party are equally responsible for the present agony and miseries of the people of Kashmir and their continued bloodshed in the past years. He said that now both the parties are creating confusion in the name of Kashmir resolution only to gain power in incoming state elections.

Ansari said that people should keep in mind the sacrifices given for independence movement and must unite to achieve their goal. He said that people of Kashmir have offered supreme sacrifices of their lives and property to get the right of self determination and resolution of Kashmir issue and they will continue their struggle until the goal is achieved.

“The sacrifices of martyrs would soon usher in the dawn of freedom in the disputed region. India should rather know that each new act of repression on its part intensifies the unwavering attachment of the Kashmiris to their cause,” Ansari said.

Speaking on the occasion, the APHC leader Masroor Abbas Ansari said that our fundamental rights have been snatched from us, we have been denied of our political, religious and personal freedom and we are being forced to face hardships only because we are not united. In these circumstances there is no way left for us except to be united.

“Those who bow before the oppression will never be able to achieve their rights and it is the need of the hour to be united and fight collectively for our rights”, said Masroor.

He expressed serious concern over the human rights violations in Kashmir and called on international community to come forward and help Kashmiris in their just struggle.

“We will continue our fight for human and fundamental rights and also for political independence, economic emancipation and social justice till we succeed. Kashmiri’s are not prepared to accept any solution imposed on them from outside. The only workable solution will be on which they must be free to decide themselves”, said Masroor Ansari.

The other speakers at the District level delegate session at Sumbal were Ghulam Hassan Majrooh, Senior district leaders Bashir Salmani, Mohd Qasim Kawa, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Mohd Yusuf Hajam and others.

The Bandipora and Ganderbal session was the fourth of this series after district Baramulla, Budgam and Islamabad sessions held on 11 th, 18th and 25th November in Sopore, Budgam and Verinag. In these special Delegate Conventions besides all the central working Committee and Executive council members, all the heads of basic units, Tehsil committees, zonal bodies, district councils and senior district leaders and prominent personalities are participating. The latest political scenario of the state, ongoing struggle, emergency and elections in Pakistan, human rights condition in J&K and Party’s political activities are some of the issues to be discussed in these conventions.
