Kabul, Nov 11 (Xinhua) Afghan troops backed by the US-led Coalition forces killed 11 Taliban militants and detained another four in southern Afghan province of Uruzgan, a defence ministry statement said Sunday.
“In the operation launched in Chora district Thursday, 11 Taliban rebels were killed and four others including their group commander Mullah Wali Jan were captured,” the statement said.
However, it did not say if there were any casualties on Afghan and Coalition side.
Taliban-related violence in Afghanistan has taken a toll of more than 6,000, among which were 1,200 civilians, during the current year.
