Tehran : Iran accused the UK of being a major violator of the Treaty on Nuclear Non Proliferation while it urges others for strict observance of the world treaty.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Mohammad Ali Hoseini noted that while London talks of strict fulfillment it violates Articles I, IV and VI of the Treaty on proliferation and peaceful cooperation.
Hoseini counters statements by British Foreign Minister David Miliband on Iran’s nuclear program by reminding UK and the US spending of millions in developing new generations of weapons and to modernize the Trident Missiles System.
He also reminds the UK over 60 year experience and its rile as leading weaponry and weapon parts supplier to the regime that occupies Palestine, in clear reference to Israel.
IRNA news agency called it first element that threatens world peace and security, particularly in the Middle East.
By contrast, Hoseini reminded Iran transparence and responsibility towards nuclear affairs and mentioned the latest report from the International Atomic Energy Agency on Teheran’s progress and collaboration.
He added that Iran “will do all in its power within the NPT and IAEA framework”.
The US and its European allays charge Iran of developing a N-program for military end and lead and world drive, even at the UN Security Council, to distort its true goal.
But Tehran defends and reaffirms its right to enrich uranium for peaceful ends under the current international regulations.
