Damascus : Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade Dr Amer Housni Lutfi has held discussions with Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Viktar Gaisenak on developing bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment.
Lutfi affirmed in the discussions here Tuesday the need to increase trade exchange, joint investments and expertise, in addition to bolstering the role of businessmen and holding trade expositions in each other’s country.
He pointed out that the Syrian government provides facilities to investors and that investment in Syria provides high-added value, adding that the Syrian economy is robust and the country is endowed with rich natural and human resources.
For his part, Gaisenak affirmed his country’s interest in developing economic relations with Syria, underlining the role of the Syrian-Belarusian Joint Committee for Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and the importance of its regular meetings, the last of which was held in the Belarusian capital, Minsk.
