Islamabad : Pakistan’s ruling coalition has completed a draft statement regarding impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf, which will be released later on Thursday, local TV reported.
A four-member draft committee has completed the draft statement on Musharraf’s impeachment and left for discussion with the coalition party leaders, private Geo TV channel said.
The joint statement would be issued to media at 3 p.m. local time in Islamabad on Thursday, according to the TV channel.
The ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) held talks for two consecutive days from Tuesday to bridge gaps on issues like Musharraf’s impeachment and reinstatement of the deposed judges.
Reports said the two parties have agreed to oust Musharraf in principle.
