Riyadh : Prince Khalid al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Makkah region and Chairman of the Hajj Central Committee, said that the journey of pilgrims from Makkah to Mina was satisfactorily completed at noon local time without any snags to mention.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, the Prince pointed out that the pilgrims’ journey was brought to completion amid integration of services and capabilities provided by bodies concerned with Hajj and pilgrims, and in accordance with continual follow-up by the Interior Minister and Chairman of the Hajj Supreme Committee to exploit all potentials and to provide best services for pilgrims to perform their rituals easily and comfortably in an atmosphere of security, faith and tranquility.
He stressed that there have been no serious incidents nor any epidemic cases among pilgrims.
For his part director of civil defense Lt. General Saad al-Twaijri said that his forces, involving hundreds of personnel whose jobs are to safeguard all pilgrims as they perform their religious rites, accompanied the pilgrims today from Makkah to Mina and will be in Arafat tomorrow to receive them there when they arrive. He said all possible contingencies have been put at the ready to deal with any untoward incident.
