New Delhi : At least 31 Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) rebels have been killed in fresh clashes in battle fatigued Northern Sri Lanka.
While three LTTE rebels were killed at northern Kokkuthudawai, five of them were killed in clashes with Sri Lankan security forces at Muhamalai and Nagarkovil in Jaffna peninsula on Friday, news agency Press Trust of India reported.
In Vavuniya, troopers killed 12 rebels, including eight in Sinnapanddichurichchan area last night, Sri Lankas Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said today in Colombo.
In Mannar, eight rebels were killed and a soldier was injured in clashes yesterday, MCNS said.
While two LTTE rebels were killed in Vilathikulam area of Vavuniya, another was killed in Kathirathan in Jaffna yesterday, the news agency said.
