Gunmen kill nine of a family in Iraq

Tikrit (Iraq) : Nine members of a family were killed when unidentified gunmen stormed their house and opened fire in a village in Salahudin province north of Iraqi capital Baghdad, a police source said.

“Labib Ali al-Zaidan, his wife, and their seven sons were killed when unknown gunmen stormed their house in the Awja village, the birthplace of the toppled president Saddam Hussein,” the source said.

The police are investigating the attack on the family which is affiliated to the al-Nasiri clan, which Saddam belonged to, the source said.
