Kuwait calls for negotiations to resolve Iran’s nuclear dispute

Amman : Kuwait’s Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser al-Mohammed al-Ahmed al-sabah said on Wednesday that Iran’s peaceful nuclear dispute should be resolved through peaceful political means.

He made the remarks in an interview with Jordanian daily Ad-Dustour in which he strongly condemned any military action against the country.

“We call for non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and Middle East free from nuclear weapons including those stockpiled by the Zionist regime,” said the Kuwaiti minister.

Kuwait is to attend the upcoming Arab summit in Damascus to review ongoing developments in Lebanon, Iraq and Palestine, he said.

“We strongly oppose siege of Gaza Strip by the Zionists which is against international rules and regulations, he said, adding that Kuwait calls for lifting of the siege and dispatch of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian nation,” he said.

Kuwait backs Palestinians in their drive to set up an independent state with the holy Qods as its capital, said the Kuwaiti minister.
