The committee would finalize the name for post of the prime minister, leaders of the House in provincial assemblies including chief ministers of Sindh and Balochistan and speakers of the assemblies, sources added.

Sources revealed that the think tank formed by the PPPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari comprises Makhdoom Amin Faheem, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Sayed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Qaim Ali Shah, Niasr Ahmed Khuhro, Manzoor Wasan, Najummuddin Khan, Mir Baz Khetran, Raheem Dad Khan and Lashkari Raisani. Thus, it has representation from all the four federating units.

Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, though emerged as the leading party in the National Assembly, however, it could not secure the simple majority to form the government independently. Therefore, senior PPPP leadership is engaged in the deliberations for formation of a coalition government as well as for building a consensus within the party ranks.

So-called think tank has not been given deadline for completion of its assignment but the sources expressed hope for the decision within two days.

“The list of favorite candidates have already been prepared, the think tank members has to finalize the names after consensus between them,” sources added.
