Gaza : Three Israelis were wounded early Saturday in a Palestinian missile attack on the city of Ashkelon, north of Gaza Strip.
An Israeli Army spokesman told the local Jewish radio station that Palestinian activists fired three missiles from northern Gaza Strip at the city, hitting a house. The house sustained severe damage and three of its residents were wounded and had to be hospitalized.
The spokesman also said that five Palestinians missiles were fired overnight at the southern Israeli city of Sderot. One missile fell in the town and the second within its parameter, while the rest exploded at Negev Gateway within which Sderot is located, he said.
The blasts caused no damage or casualties, he claimed.
Meanwhile, Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for firing a “Quds” missile at the Israeli settlement of Kfar Aza, east of Gaza City.
It said the attack was in retaliation for the continued Israeli crimes against Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Earlier today, at least ten Palestinians were killed and more than 20 others were wounded in an Israeli incursion into the eastern outskirts of Jabaliya and Gaza City, and Israel had said yesterday it was boosting its presence in the northern and eastern parts of Gaza Strip in preparation for a land operation.
