Islamabad : Forty militants were killed and 30 others apprehended while many sustained injuries in an operation carried out by the security forces in South Waziristan Agency during the last 24 hours.
According to a spokesman of ISPR here Thursday, the security forces carried out operations in the areas of Spinkai Raghazai, Nawazkot and surrounding areas of Tiarza in South Waziristan Agency.
“These areas have been cleared of militants’ stronghold and hideouts”, the spokesman said.
During the operation eight security forces personnel were killed while 32 others were injured, he said.
The security forces also moved three tanks in Jandola to protect movement of the military convoys.
