EU’s Solana condemns attack on Indian embassy as barbaric

Brussels : European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana denounced the terrorist attack outside the Indian Embassy in Kabul Monday , which killed more than 40 innocent civilian people, including staff members of the Indian Mission, and left hundreds injured.

“I hope that the Afghan Government will find and bring to justice those behind this barbaric act. Such actions, which are clearly intended to undermine the process of stabilization and reconstruction in Afghanistan, will achieve nothing,” he said in a statement.

Solana conveyed his most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and to the Afghan and Indian authorities.

The European Union remains fully committed to long-term support for the people and government of Afghanistan in their efforts to build a democratic and stable state, he added.
