Uniform dress code for employees of Haryana power distribution agency

Chandigarh : The Haryana power distribution agency has decided to introduce a dress code for all its employees including managing director and directors Aug 1, 2008.

The decision was taken to give a corporate identity to the agency, said a spokesman here Saturday.

“White shirt, navy blue trousers, black belt and black shoes for male staff and white shirt/blouse and navy blue salwar/sari or purple coloured shirt, salwar or blouse and sari for female staff has been made mandatory. The caps for all the employees would be provided by the agency,” said the spokesman.

The agency also decided to sanction Rs.1,000 to all class-III and IV employees as an advance for getting the dress. The agency would also pay them Rs.120 per month for maintenance.

The same dress from top to bottom level will boost the feeling of equality as well as discipline among the employees, the spokesman said.

A penalty has also been also announced for the violators of the dress code. It will be Rs.50 for the first violation, Rs.100 along with a letter of warning for the second and in case of third default, stoppage of uniform allowance and its recovery in lump sum from the date of payment from the first violation.

A charge sheet will be issued to the violator for the fourth violation and an immediate suspension from service for the fifth one, added the spokesman.
