Khan, who was diagnosed as prostrate cancer in 2006, was shifted to a hospital in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad for medical treatment, said the spokesman on condition of anonymity.

The medical checkup revealed low blood pressure and fever, probably due to some infections, and doctors advised Khan to be hospitalized for a detailed medical checkup.

“Dr. Khan has been in good health since his surgery in September 2006. But on Tuesday, he complained of weakness and was provided immediate medical treatment at home,” an army statement said.

The statement said that doctors, who are treating him, are hopeful that Khan would recover in a couple of days.
