Caracas : Questioning and attacking sovereign Venezuelan policy are part of US strategy against President Hugo Chavez, which is also part of the US oil agenda, a Latin American parliamentary source noted.
For Latin American Parliament (PARLATINO) vice president Carolus Wimmer, Washington’s aim is “the occupation and domination, via the use of military force, of the world´s largest oil fields.”
PARLATINO lawmakers Carlos Escarra stated that US President George W. Bush “has failed in his foreign policy and his last blunder was when he put at risk Colombian President Alvaro Uribe to create a regional conflict and invade Ecuador.”
Faced with the White House opposition, Escarra said, Latin America bets on a multipolar world with equal rights for everyone.
Saul Ortega, president of the Venezuelan Parliament Foreign Policy Commission, noted that the threat has the key reason of oil.
Venezuela, Ortega stressed, has the largest oil reserves in the Americas, and the United States, the largest industries interested in this resource.
