Beirut : Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri will call for a session on Sunday to elect a new president, sources close to him said on Wednesday.
The sources told KUNA Berri decided to advance a session to elect a new president, due on June 10, to May 26.
The consensus candidate, Army Commander General Michel Suleiman, is due to be elected president of the republic. His forecast election on Sunday will coincide with the country’s celebration of the 8th liberation anniversary.
