Iran disregarded the demands of the UN Security Council for freezing its nuclear enrichment activities, Al-Baradei said in a five-page report on the outcome of the recent negotiations and inspections conducted by senior IAEA officials in Iran.

The IAEA board of governors is scheduled to probe the report on June 2.

The report raised concerns over the possible military nature of Iran’s nuclear programme given the new centrifuges installed recently by Iran and the ongoing construction of new nuclear reactor of the I.R. 40 type.

El-Baradei’s report urged Iran to respond urgently to the international demands and offer the necessary guarantees of the peaceful nature of its nuclear programme.

Iran uses some 3,500 centrifuges to enrich uranium at the Natanz nuclear plant, central Iran, and barred IAEA team from inspecting some suspicious nuclear facilities last April, according to the report.

Meanwhile, the report affirmed that Iran did not remove the seals placed by the IAEA on some facilities at the Bushehr nuclear plant, in south Iran, last February.
