Bangkok : A roadside bomb was triggered by suspected insurgents on Tuesday in Thailand’s southern Pattani Province, injuring four patrol soldiers.
The bomb, triggered by mobile phone signal, went off while an army unit was patrolling in Pattani’s Khok Pho district, local police said.
According to The Nation news network, four soldiers of the Taskforce 21 unit were severely injured during the bombing.
Thailand’s three southernmost provinces — Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani have been troubled with insurgency-related violence which has claimed more than 3,000 lives since it resumed in early 2004.
