Tehran : Iranian National Museum and the distinguished foreign museums are considering increasing their cooperation, Iranian news agency (Irna) reported Tuesday.
Announcing this on Monday, curator of the Iranian National Museum noted that some managers and officials from the Louvre Museum, Vienna’s Museum of Art History and British Museum will travel to Iran in mid June.
Referring to the foreign museums’ willingness for cooperating with the Iranian National Museum, he noted that the visit aims at introducing the rich history and civilization of Iran.
On the recent visit of Curator of Louvre Museum Henry Loyrette to Tehran, he added the French official called for holding an exhibition on the Iranian history and civilization in France.
Loyrette also visited the historical and cultural monuments of Khuzestan province in the previous week.
During the visit, Loyrette pointed out that Susa, located in the southern province of Khuzestan, has a special position in the world.
Emphasizing the need to expand archaeological ties, Loyrette noted the establishment of an archaeological university will pave the way for bolstering Iran-France archaeological cooperation.
