Kabul : At least eight Afghan civilians were killed Tuesday as a roadside bomb hit a mini-bus in southwestern Afghanistan.
The incident occurred in Afghanistan’s western province of Farah, bordering Helmand province in the southern zone of the country, a senior official said. Deputy Governor of Farah province Younus Rasouli told the press that the mini-bus was on way from Farah to the neighboring Nimroz province. All those killed in the incident were men. Taliban or other warring group so far did not claim responsibility for the blast.
Afghanistan’s western zone is bordering Iran and is considered comparatively safe from security point of view. However, attacks on foreign and Afghan troops are slowly increasing in that area the past few months.
