“Sri Lankan government and I are determined to defeat terrorism. There will be no let up in the battle against the menace because of the attacks by the LTTE,” Rajapaksa told heads of the country’s media houses at Colombo today, news agency Indo Asian News Service reported.

“I will not rest till terrorism is defeated,” he said and alleged that the LTTE was trying to create communal divide in the country. “We will not allow this to happen. Facing defeat, the LTTE was increasing its attacks against civilians,” the President stressed.

He said his government was not directed against the Tamil community and urged the media to support the government in its campaign against terrorism.
