Jeddah : The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu received the British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mr. William Patey at the headquarters of OIC here on Wednesday. The ambassador was accompanied by the Consul General Ms Kate Rudd, according to an OIC statement. During the meeting, they reviewed the activities of the OIC since assumption of duty by the Secretary General and the ongoing reform of the Organization.
They discussed the age-long relations between the United Kingdom and the Muslim world and examined ways to enhance and strengthen bilateral ties with the OIC and its Member States through the implementation of the concrete projects within the framework of the Ten Year Program of Action. The leaders also reviewed the outcome of the just concluded Dakar Islamic Summit, the forthcoming Conference of Foreign Ministers in Kampala and other issues of mutual interest.
