ISI to cooperate with India: Pak NSA

Islamabad : Pakistan’s National Security Adviser Mahmud Ali Durrani has said that Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) would extend all possible cooperation to India in investigating the Mumbai attacks, Online news agency reported Saturday.

While talking to a private TV channel, Durrani said that ISI would fully cooperate with Indian intelligence agencies in order to trap the real culprits of the attacks in Mumbai that have claimed 152 lives and injured 327.

He said that intelligence sharing between the two countries would help effectively overcome the issue of terrorism.

“Both Pakistan and India, which are neighbouring countries, are victims of terrorism and extremism. Strengthening of bilateral cooperation would help to overcome issue of terrorism,” Durrani said.

In response to a question regarding the conditions of cooperation, he said, “It was not clear yet, what kind of cooperation India was seeking. Pakistan’s officials will visit India and know their requirement for cooperation.”
