Lucknow : The sudden dry gruelling weather for the last one week in Uttar Pradesh will once again be followed by a spell of rains, officials of the meteorological department said here Wednesday.
Rains are expected to lash the state again after 48 hours from Wednesday evening.
“Moderate to heavy rains would lash large parts of Uttar Pradesh,” L.C. Ram, director of the meteorological forecasting section here, told IANS.
Meanwhile, after having witnessed a spurt in infectious diseases following the floods in several parts of the state, health authorities are on their toes.
“We have already directed all the chief medical officers (CMOs) to make adequate arrangements against diseases, especially water-borne,” said director general medical and health, I.S. Srivastava.
The monsoons, which began on June 1, have claimed 785 lives in the state.
