Bhopal : The main opposition party in the state, the Congress, Thursday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government here of allotting land worth over Rs.5 billion for its party offices and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) affiliated organisations in various districts.
Talking to reporters, state Congress president Suresh Pachouri said that prime land worth over Rs.5 billion has been allotted for party offices in districts including Khandwa, Balaghat, Pipariya, Sheopur, Sagar and Jabalpur.
He alleged that costly land has also been allotted to RSS affiliated organisations, including Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Saraswati Shishu Mandirs.
“Such out-of-the-way allotments would be rescinded after a thorough probe when the Congress comes to power in the state,” Pachouri said.
The Congress leader also charged the BJP government in the state with selling the central government’s share of electricity provided to it.
“Any state government can’t sell to other states the power provided to it by the central government and we have brought this to the notice of the Central Electricity Regulatory Authority which would take appropriate action after completing an inquiry into the matter,” he said.
Pachouri also accused the Chouhan government of misleading the people of the state by making announcements which can’t be fulfilled in two months’ time after which the state is slated to go to polls.
