The Lok Sabha was adjourned for 10 minutes as Veerendra Kumar slumped in his chair when the budget proposals were being presented. A doctor had to be called in.

“He was not well since Sunday. His blood pressure increased because of his asthma problem. He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where his condition is now stable,” the leader’s aide Shree Kumar told IANS.

Mukherjee resumed his speech after the break. Once the interim budget had been presented, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day.
