Mumbai terrorists had British link: MI5 spy chief

London : There were “indirect connections” between the terrorists who attacked Mumbai in November and individuals in Britain, the head of Britain’s spy agency says.

MI5 director Jonathan Evans said in interviews published Wednesday that billing records have been uncovered revealing telephone calls between the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba group suspected of being behind the Mumbai attacks and other countries, including Britain.

“But nothing of security significance was found,” Evans told British newspapers in the first ever interview given by a serving spy chief.
