Tehran : President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Friday congratulated his Afghan, Tajik, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, Uzbek and Azeri counterparts on the advent of Nowruz (New Year).
“Nowruz marks re-birth of love, friendship, and hope in the personal and social lives of human beings.
I hope that with the advent of the spring of nature and of this glorious tradition, which belongs to all the peace seekers and freedom lovers worldwide, the current world will, through joint efforts, move in a direction in which beauty, freshness and justice substitute hatred, discrimination and tyranny and humanity will, through blossoming of beauty, morals and spirituality move towards building a world full of peace, friendship and security,” read the president’s message.
The new Persian year and spring season, Nowruz (Noruz), begins at 15:13:39 local time (11:43:39 GMT) on Friday March 20 (today).
