Moscow : As people in Moscow are inconvenienced due to massive traffic jams, the governor of the region offered a solution Friday: buy a helicopter.
“I travel in a helicopter,” Moscow Region Governor Boris Gromov told reporters. “You should also buy helicopters instead of cars – then you will not need roads.”
Gromov said about 400 residents in the region have helicopters.
The issue of traffic, a major woe for Moscow and surrounding areas, has been highlighted by recent massive hold-ups on the Leningradskoye Highway, one of the main traffic arteries to the northwest of Moscow.
The huge traffic jam, caused by repair works on the highway, led to some 1,500 people missing their flights from Sheremetyevo Airport, 29-km northwest of Moscow.
