Seychelles : The UAE and the Republic of Seychelles have signed an agreement worth $15 million to fight piracy off the island nation.
The money will be used in raising a new Coast Guard force off Mahe, the largest island in the Archipelago, and for acquiring five patrol ships to double Seychelles’ fleet in the task.
Seychelles’ Internal Affairs Minister Joel Morgan and UAE Ambassador to the island nation Mal Allah Mubarak Suwaid Al A’meri, among others, attended the signing ceremony here Friday.
