Bengaluru: PDP chairman Abdunnasir Maudany yesterday left hospital after Ayurveda treatment of 28 days. He was moved to the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail from the private Ayurveda hospital in Whitefield on Tuesday afternoon. The Karnataka Home Department will pay the expenses of Rs 8.6 lakhs for the treatment.
The doctors have reportedly mentioned in the medical report that routine tests and follow-up treatments should be done once in three weeks. They have given directions in food matters also.
He was admitted to the hospital on June 7, as per the directions of the Supreme Court. Maudany, who is suffering from several illnesses and difficulties, has improved a little after the ‘panchkarma’ treatment of 28 days, the doctors reportedly told his counsel Adv Usman. However, the treatment given now should be continued after six months, and routines tests should be done every three weeks.
The treatment was mainly carried out for spondylitis, from which Maudany has been suffering for quite a long time. Treatment was taken for problems with eye-sight also, resulting from diabetes. However, he is still suffering from back-pain and blood pressure as well as problems of using the artificial leg for long time.
Meanwhile, the Kerala Muslim Samyuktha Vedi has announced to organise a march to the Raj Bhavan on July 27 demanding justice for Maudany.
Maudany is 31st accused in the 2008 Bengaluru blast case and was arrested by the Karnataka police from Kerala in August 2010. He was in police custody for 10 days, after which he was remanded to judicial custody. He has been in the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail ever since and the judicial custody has been extended till date. Maudany’s bail plea was rejected by Karnataka High Court which prompted him to approach the Supreme Court. The SC has postponed the consideration of the plea to August 3, at the same time directing the Karnataka government to give him proper medical treatment.
