Lucknow celebrates birth anniversary of Hazrat Imam Husain

Lucknow: To mark the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Hazrat Imam Husain, All India Shia Husaini Fund organised feast at Shia PG College (Victoria Street) on Wednesday. Several other functions were organised across the city to mark the occasion.

During the feast, a Mehfil was also organised in which several poets presented couplets throwing light on life and works of Hazrat Husain. Maulana Fareed ul Hasan inaugurated the Mehfil organised at the college. Maulana Siam Mahdi and Maulana Syed Mohammed Sadiq along with large number of people were present.

Another major function was organised at Dargah Hazrat Abbas where Imam-e-Juma Maulana Kalbe Jawwad addressed the devotees. He highlighted the incidents from the life of Imam Hussain and urged people to inculcate them in their life. Later a function ‘parcham kushai’ was also held where a high alam was unveiled using a hydraulic lift.

Meanwhile, Mehfil was organised at Imambara Agha Baqar where a number of poets presented their couplets praising Hazrat Husain. Also on the occasion people were told about his life and works which was a message to the humanity in the present time. Following it, number of the Mehfils were organised across the city to mark the occasion.

Also on the occasion, Juloos-e-Masarrat was carried out at Mufti Ganj and Kazmain Area to mark the occasion. The procession was attended by large number of people.

Hazrat Imam Husain, the son of fourth caliph Hazrat Ali and grandson of Prophet Muhammad, was born in Medina, on the third of Sha’ban in the year 4 A.H. (1/8/626). He was martyred in the Battle of Karbala on 10th of Muharram, 61 A.H. (10/10/680)
