Karachi : Six people were killed and many injured in various firing incidents in different parts of Pakistan’s Karachi city, Geo News reported late Saturday.
Unidentified men opened fire at the city’s Napier road, killing a 12-year-old boy and injuring a man.
According to police, the attackers opened fire on people engaged in wall-chalking but the boy accidentally came within its range.
Later, firing occurred outside civil hospital forcing people to run for safety.
A lawyer Syed Mukhtar Abbas Bukhari, who sustained bullet wounds near civil hospital, died later while being treated, said Medico legal officer Liaquat.
A hotel owner was gunned down in New Karachi, said rescue sources.
Police said intermittent firing continued in the old city areas of Bohra Pir and Napier Road. It caused fear among the residents while shokpkeepers and businesses had to call it a day.
Two people sustained injuries when unidentified assailants opened fire near city’s Saeedabad market No.24.
A man was gunned down near Al Asif Square by unidentified attackers, police said.
In Baldia Town and Gulshan-e-Maimar areas unknown armed men killed two people.
Scores of people have been killed and injured in target killings and street violence over the past week in Karachi.
On Friday, Karachi had witnessed 15 killings in its Malir and Landhi areas following an armed clash between rival groups.
