Islamabad : Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir Thursday said that had something gone wrong during the US raid at Abbottabad to kill Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, “it could have led to a terrible catastrophe”.
Bashir told reporters: “Had something gone wrong, it could have led to a terrible catatrophe.”
The top Pakistani official was referring to the dramatic assault carried out by US commandos May 2 on a mansion in Abbottabad where Osama was hiding. The special forces shot dead Osama and seized a cache of material from the hideout.
