Both have since organized rallies and conferences in different parts of the country on Muslim issues but their purpose was to showcase their strength. Arshad Madani and Mahmood Madani recently organised programmes in Lucknow for the same purpose. However, the act has not gone down well with the Muslim community.

National President of Pasmanda Muslim Samaj, Mr Anees Mansoori addressing the press in Lucknow

National President, PMS, Anees Mansoori stated that the Madani family is a respected family and they should end their differences. “Their aim should be upliftment of backward Muslims who are living a life of penury. They are wasting their energy for showing their supremacy and it should be better channelised for larger Muslim cause,” he said.

Mansoori stated that 85 percent of the Muslim population is living in abject poverty and is a social pariah. “No political party is giving them their adequate due and their representation has reached to negligible status,” said Mansoori. He demanded that there should be schemes dedicated for the upliftment of backward Muslims on lines of dalit welfare schemes. “They should be given election tickets by political parties for fair power sharing,” said Mansoori.

Later in a bargaining move, the state president of the PMS, Waseem Raini urged the political parties to give tickets to backward Muslims and get their votes in return of the favour. “If it does not happen we may be forced to enter the political fray directly,” he said.
