Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Monday gave away a month’s salary for disaster relief in Uttarakhand.
He also urged ministers in his government and MPs and legislators of the Samajwadi Party to do likewise.
“I appeal to everyone in the spate, my party and people across the social and political spectrum to donate to the best of their abilities and help people devastated by the natural calamity,” he said in a message.
The MPs and legislators have been asked to make their donation to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Several consignments of medicine, food and water have also been sent to Uttarakhand.
