Cairo : Egypt Foreign Ministry announced that Cairo will host a conference to help towards the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday, “The governments of Egypt and Norway, supported by President Mahmoud Abbas, have decided to co-host a conference on Palestine focuses on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.”
The Ministry added that “the invitations to the conference will be duly extended once an agreement on a sustainable ceasefire has been reached between the Palestinian and Israeli sides as a result of the ongoing talks in Cairo,”
For his part, the Foreign Minister of Norway Borghei Brende said “The funds that will be raised under the auspices of Egypt and Norway will be presented to the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas.”
It is noteworthy that the Committee for coordination of international assistance to the Palestinians is headed by Norway.
