Kuala Lumpur : The Kuwaiti National Assembly (parliament) is set to partake in the 3rd meeting of Asian parliaments due to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on November 26-29.
The Kuwaiti parliamentary team will include MP Marzouq Al-Hubaini as head of delegation, and Reja Al-Metairi, Saleh Ashour, and Askar Al-Enezi as members.
The four-day conference is expected to discuss plans of action forwarded by specialized committees on cultural diversity, globalization, reduction of poverty, the fight against corruption, an Asian friendship treaty, and a proposed Asian monetary fund. The conferees will also thrash out a set of political issues, mainly cooperation among Asian countries in the fight against international terrorism, the repeated Israeli aggressions on the Palestinian people, and promotion of peace and security on the world, regional, and continental arenas.
They are also expected to touch upon several economic topics, especially south-south cooperation, an information-sharing mechanism, optimum employment of experts in response to the current economic challenges ensued by globalization, and commercial, service, insurance ,and investment support for small and medium-sized projects.
